Stop The RI Beverage Tax: Election Statement
Providence, RI– Today the Stop the RI Beverage Tax Coalition, a coalition of over 1,000 small businesses issued the following statement after Tuesday’s General Election in Rhode Island:
“Our coalition congratulates the leaders and legislators who were elected and re-elected on Tuesday. On Election Day and in a number of polls leading up to this week, voters made clear that a top priority for elected officials must be addressing the increased cost of living. Rhode Islanders continue to face economic challenges including rising costs, and they have reaffirmed that now is not the time for new taxes. We look forward to working with Governor McKee and Rhode Island legislators to continue to support the working families and small businesses who are the backbone of our economy, and we hope they continue to listen to the voice of voters. Together, we can continue to build a prosperous environment where small businesses and their employees can thrive.”
