A group of Rhode Island businesses expressed interest in offering their perspective on why the tax is onerous and will negatively impact their businesses, including Eli Berkowitz, Owner of Little Rhody Foods, who offered his perspective on consumer choice: “I service all the supermarkets here in Rhode Island, nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut. We have to educate the consumer on the foods they should eat…and we want to make sure what we’re getting to the public is a healthier drink so they can consume that and/or make the educated choice for what they want to have.”
